koziol puts a smile on my mind

We don’t just make products - we tell stories. And we’ve been doing so for almost 100 years. Our designs unite emotion and function in a way that’s unmistakably koziol: original design that inspires, clever functionality that brings joy to everyday life - all sustainably produced in the Odenwald forest. To mark 99 years of koziol, we look back at three design classics that continue to define our identity.

GINA Pasta Server

GINA turns serving pasta into pure pleasure. With its scalloped edge, it effortlessly grips spaghetti and tagliatelle straight from the pot or bowl — and thanks to its ingenious design, it can stand upright on the table. Its deep spoon also makes it ideal for serving other types of pasta. Designed in 1997 by the Darmstadt-based duo Jan Hansen and Frank Person, this original spaghetti server has become a true classic.

AHOI Lemon Squeezer

Designed in 2001 by Italian designer and architect Paolo Pedrizetti, this lemon squeezer translates architectural thinking into a playful form inspired by a paper boat. Its origami-like silhouette has since become a timeless design icon. The sculptural shape ensures excellent stability and a secure grip, while the narrow spouts allow for precise, controlled pouring. A small ridge at the front cleverly keeps seeds from slipping through.

KASIMIR cheese grater

Designed in 2010 by the Antwerp-based studio Pinkeye, KASIMIR is a cheese grater with character. The little hedgehog raises its spines to grate Parmesan, Gouda, and more into fine shavings - perfect for pizza nights, pasta bowls, and everything in between. A small design object that brings everyday joy, KASIMIR feels right at home on the table or in the kitchen. Comfortable to hold and satisfying to use, it’s ideal for anyone who enjoys cooking with fresh ingredients.

How it began...

It began in 1927 in a small ivory workshop in Erbach in the Odenwald region. Here, necklaces, brooches and bracelets were made from ivory, mother-of-pearl and amber – popular fashion items of the Roaring Twenties.

How it began...

In the early 1930s, koziol began producing its jewelry from the then brand-new thermoplastic materials. A crucial milestone in the company's history.

How it began...

The company and brand have reinvented themselves several times over the decades. While the products and design have evolved with the times, the craftsmanship and values have remained constant: since 1927, koziol has been making beautiful things for a better world. Good design with a clear conscience.
