THE MATERIAL
Our material simply explained.

koziol ORGANIC BIO-CIRCULAR
Since 2021, large parts of our collection have been made from bio-circular plastic. This revolutionary material is recycled from discarded sunflower and rapeseed oils from industry and the catering sector.
Used vegetable oils are professionally collected and converted into plastic using a special recycling process. This gives these materials a meaningful new purpose for the first time; previously, they could only be incinerated. Furthermore, no additional arable land is required for their production.
Extraction is needed.
The material is dishwasher safe, food safe and fully recyclable .

With a clear conscience
We are committed to using only thermoplastic materials that are 100% recyclable. These materials offer many advantages: they are food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and require no additives.
They are extremely durable and can be manufactured using resources efficiently. The decisive advantage is their low [cost /feature].
Maximum processing temperature during production : 180°C.
For comparison: Metal, glass or ceramics are processed at temperatures between 800°C and 1,500°C.
Our philosophy is to only manufacture products for which plastic is the most suitable and sustainable material – for ecologically and economically sound solutions.
FAQ
How and where are koziol products manufactured?
All koziol products are manufactured exclusively at our company headquarters in Erbach/Odenwald . Thanks to our in-house production, we manufacture quickly, resource-efficiently, and above all, transparently. The entire value chain takes place at one location, ensuring complete traceability of all processes.
Our "Assured Sustainability" seal confirms our commitment to ecological, economic, and social responsibility. We are also IFS certified – guaranteeing the highest food standards. SEDEX and SMETA ensure compliance with strict labor guidelines.
Does microplastic production or use generate microplastics?
No. All plastic waste generated during our production, such as sprues, off-colors, or leftover granules, is collected by type and professionally recycled. Even all packaging materials in which the material is delivered are collected and recycled.
Microplastics are defined as plastic particles smaller than 5 mm. These are created, among other things, when plastic weathers, breaks, or wears down due to heavy use. Careless disposal in the environment often also plays a role.
With normal use of reusable tableware, it can be assumed that no particles will be released. Furthermore, koziol consistently avoids additives such as plasticizers or hardening agents.
This environmental pollution caused by microplastics is indeed a problem that we take very seriously and therefore handle our materials with great care.
Comprehensive information on the topic of microplastics can be found in this publication on the website of the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment .
Why should I choose a product made of plastic?
Plastic products are lightweight, extremely practical, easy to use and clean, and above all, they are shatterproof. This greatly simplifies transport, storage, serving, clearing, and washing, especially with reusable tableware, and eliminates the risk of injury . This is also a compelling argument for children's products.
Another advantage is the light weight , especially for travel products that often need to be carried in a backpack or shoulder bag over long distances. And school bags won't become unnecessarily heavy either. All products are dishwasher-safe and therefore particularly easy to care for.
koziol products consist of mono-material, i.e., a single material, and are therefore easily recyclable.
