Material: Biocircular
Since 2021, koziol has gone one step further and processed biocircular plastic, partly in combination with wood fibers.
The biocircular plastic is generated from discarded sunflower and rapeseed oil from industry and the catering industry. These oils are converted into plastic in a special recycling process.
The added wood fibers are obtained from trees that are left over from forestry and from paper production residues. All wood comes from European cultivation and is FSC®-certified (FSC-C159458).
This is the first time that these natural raw materials have been put to meaningful use, as up until now they could only be used thermally. In addition, no additional cultivation areas are required.
The new material combines the positive properties of wood such as insulation and naturalness with the advantages of plastic such as elasticity, lightness and individual colorability.
The material is free of melamine, BPA and bamboo, of course food safe and fully recyclable.
