Was ist biozirkulärer Kunststoff?
Für unser Geschirr verwenden wir vorwiegend biozirkulären Kunststoff, der aus gebrauchten Speiseölen aus Industrie und Gastronomie recycelt werden. Diese Öle werden gesammelt und in einem speziellen Recyclingverfahren in Kunststoff umgewandelt.
So werden diese natürlichen Rohstoffe ein zweites Mal verwendet. Dieses neue Material ist extrem langlebig, frei von Melamin und zu 100% recycelbar. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist, dass keine speziellen Anbauflächen benötigt werden.
Wo und wie werden unsere Produkte hergestellt?
Dank unserer eigenen Fertigung produzieren wir schnell, ressourcenschonend und vor allem transparent. Die gesamte Wertschöpfung findet an einem Ort statt, so dass alle Prozesse lückenlos nachvollziehbar sind. Unser Prüfsiegel Gesicherte Nachhaltigkeit bestätigt, dass wir ökologische, ökonomische und soziale Verantwortung ernst nehmen. Zusätzlich sind wir nach IFS zertifiziert – für höchste Lebensmittelstandards. SEDEX und SMETA garantieren die Einhaltung strenger Arbeitsrichtlinien.
Entstehen bei der Produktion und Nutzung Mikroplastik?
Nein. Alle Kunststoffreste, die bei der Produktion anfallen, werden sorteinrein gesammelt und einem professionellen Recycling zugeführt. Sogar alle Verpackungsmateralien, in denen das Material angeliefert wird, werden gesammelt und recycelt.
Als Mikroplastik bezeichnet man Plastikteile, die kleiner sind als 5 mm. Diese entstehen, wenn Kunststoff verwittert, zerbrochen oder durch starke Beanspruchung abgerieben wird. Oft spielt hierbei auch die achtlose Entsorgung in der Umwelt eine Rolle.
Bei einer normalen Nutzung von Mehrweggeschirr kann man davon ausgehen, dass hierbei keine Partikel freigesetzt werden. koziol verzichtet darüber hinaus auch konsequent auf Zusätze wie Weichmacher oder Härtungsmittel.
Die Belastung der Umwelt durch Mikroplastik ist in der Tat ein Problem, das auch wir sehr ernst nehmen und daher sehr sorgfältig mit unseren Materialien umgehen.
Warum Geschirr aus Kunststoff?
Kunststoffgeschirr ist leicht, extrem praktisch und einfach in der Anwendung und vor allem bruchfest. Transport, Lagerung, Servieren, Abräumen und Spülen werden dadurch enorm vereinfacht und vor allem ist die Verletzungsgefahr gebannt.
Der entscheidende Vorteil ist die niedrige Verarbeitungstemperatur bei der Herstellung
von max. 180°C.
Zum Vergleich: Metall, Glas oder Keramik wird bei Temperaturen zwischen 800°C und 1.500°C verarbeitet.
